[Upcoming Exhibition] FINE CRAFT by SOLUNA in London Craft Week 2024

FINE CRAFT by SOLUNA

15 - 19 May 2024

The history of Korean craft goes back about 7,000 years with developments in ceramics, metal, wood, mother-of-pearl, horsehair and more. Each material on its own has an interesting story to tell. The basis of contemporary Korean art has its origin in material properties. This is a distinct trait of the Korean culture as the most sophisticated people, from the royal court to learned scholars, in ancient times enjoyed objects made using different materials embellished with challenging making skills. Soluna Art Group, a leading company in the Republic of Korea aims to show creativity that pushes limits crossing over a wide range of disciplines. From horsehair to welded metal and glass we define finesse and sophistication through fine craft.

We are presenting new works by Dahye Jeong (working in horsehair), 2022 Winner of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize and Keeryong Choi (UK based glass artist), Kyouhong Lee (glass artist), Woosun Cheon (metal artist) all 2023 Finalists for the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize. Following last year’s success, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of London Craft Week through our exhibition in Gallery 5, 6 at Cromwell Place.
